HEIC to JPG & PDF Convert

Last updated: September 27, 2026

I. Introduction

CodeValley ("we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you install and use our mobile application, HEIC to JPG & PDF Convert (the "App"), which converts HEIC photos to JPG, PNG and PDF files. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we act as the data controller unless stated otherwise.

Effective date: September 27, 2026.

II. Your Photos Stay on Your Device

The App's core function runs entirely on your device. When you choose photos or files to convert:

  • The photos are decoded, converted and saved locally on your device using the operating system's built-in image codecs. They are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party. We do not have servers that receive your photos.
  • Photo metadata (EXIF) such as capture date, camera model and GPS location is read on your device only to show you which photos contain a location and to apply the metadata option you pick (keep everything, remove location, or remove all).
  • Converted files are stored in the App's private storage so you can find them in the History tab. You can delete them from the History tab at any time, and they are removed when you delete the App. Copies you save to your photo library or share with other apps are controlled by you.
  • The App asks for permission to add photos to your library only when you tap "Save to Photos". Selecting photos uses the system photo picker, which gives the App access only to the photos you pick.

III. Information Processed Automatically

The free version of the App shows ads and offers an optional subscription. For this purpose the following third-party services process limited information:

  • Google AdMob (advertising): device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking; Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device type, operating system, language and ad interaction data (for example, whether an ad was viewed or tapped). This is used to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat (subscriptions): an anonymous app user ID, purchase and subscription status and device information, used to unlock Premium and restore purchases. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play (payments): Apple or Google processes all payments. We never receive your card details.

We do not use analytics tools, we do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address or contacts through the App.

IV. Consent and Tracking

  • iOS App Tracking Transparency: on first launch iOS asks whether the App may use your advertising identifier. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised using that identifier. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: we use Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before personalised ads are served. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy Options inside the App.
  • Premium users see no ads and the App sends no ad requests for them.

V. Purposes and Legal Bases

  • Providing the conversion features: performed locally on your device, so no personal data is transferred to us.
  • Showing ads in the free version: based on your consent where required (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), or on our legitimate interest in funding the free App.
  • Managing subscriptions: necessary to perform our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Preventing fraud and meeting legal obligations: our legitimate interests and legal obligations.

VI. Sharing and International Transfers

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed in Section III, which may process it outside your country under appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

VII. Retention

Converted files and history entries stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Advertising and subscription data are retained by the respective providers according to their own policies and legal requirements.

VIII. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have the right to know what personal information is processed, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the ad serving described above. To exercise any right, contact us at support@codevalley.cc. We respond within 30 days (45 days for CCPA requests).

IX. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ads are restricted to content rated suitable for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@codevalley.cc and we will delete it.

X. Data Deletion

You can delete the data associated with this App at any time:

  • Converted files and history: delete a batch from the History tab, or uninstall the App to remove all of its files and settings. The App never uploads your photos, so there is no copy on our side.
  • Advertising identifier: reset or limit it in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
  • Advertising consent: change or withdraw it from Settings → Privacy Options inside the App (shown where consent is required).
  • Purchase records: kept by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat as required for billing, tax and fraud prevention. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

To ask us to delete any remaining data linked to you, email support@codevalley.cc with the subject “Data Deletion Request”. We will act within 30 days and confirm by email.

XI. Security

Because your photos are processed on your device and never transmitted by the App, they are protected by your device's own security. Data exchanged with our service providers is transmitted over encrypted connections.

XII. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
